In the summers, my brother and I had just one goal while reaching home.
To open the fridge, put two ice cubes in a glass, put water, and add Rasna to quench our thirst. It was like a ritual. But there was a twist!
A 32-glass pack would hardly run for 3-5 days. My mother was puzzled about what made it finish so fast. She started keeping a vigil.
And what unfolded was a tale of mischief that she narrated to her entire family and friends.
My brother and I, in the competition that one always has an upper hand in having Rasna, use to have it whenever no one was looking.
Sometimes, half a glass, a few sips, or a full glass, all depending upon how much time we have to pour, mix, drink, and then wipe our face clean!
Another such memory is – when Rasna launched its coca-cola flavour, during our birthday parties, we specifically asked the mother to serve that flavour.
The sparkle and awe in the eyes of our friends when they would see it was a matter of pride.
We would carry a dazzling smile for a few days till the time friends kept on talking about the wonderful party they had.
Rasna gave the lower-middle-class who could not afford a carbonated drink the option of having something similar and even healthy at a price that did not drain the pocket.
Late Mr. Areez Pirojshaw Khambatta, (Rasna Founder)…. Rest In peace Sir…thank you for making my childhood so flavourful and full of such beautiful memories.

Would love to know your thoughts!
